LIVING BEINGS

Living beings, also  called organisms, have got  basic needs.

Scientists use some rules to decide if something is a living being. Some of these rules are:
-Living beings are made of cells.
-Living beings obtain and use energy.
-Living beings grow and develop.
-Living beings reproduce.
-Living beings respond to their environment.
-Living beings adapt to their environment
.
The cell is the basic structural and functional unit of all known living organisms. It is the smallest unit of life that is classified as a living thing, and is often called the building block of life.
Organisms can be classified as unicellular (consisting of a single cell; including most bacteria) or multicellular (including plants and animals).
Plant cells and animal cells are different.

In  organisms, cells are usually specialised. All cells with the same function group together. Such a group of cells is then called a tissue.

In multicellular organisms, cells are usually specialised. All the cells with the same function group together. Such a group of cells is then called a tissue.

British, Australian and Latin American textbooks may describe five kingdoms: Animalia, Plantae, Fungi, Protoctista and Prokaryota, or Monera.
