2. Relationships in an Ecosystem.

All living creatures in an ecosystem interrelate.
Food relationships are very important.
Any change in an ecosystem affects all the living creatures because they are interrelated.

2.1. Relationships between Living Creatures of the Same Species.

**Members of the same species help each other.
              Examples:      -Feeding
                                 -Defence
                                 -Looking after the young

**Many of them live in large groups:
-HERDS: groups of mammals living toghether.
              -FLOCKS: groups of birds.
              -SHOALS: groups of fish.
**Members of the same species can fight too .
Examples:     -Plants compete for growing space.

2.2. Relationships between living creatures of different species.
There are 2 differents kind of relationships:

**Some help each other. They benefit from this relationship.

Example: sea anemones live on hermit crabs.
The sea anemone defends the crab with its                                                              tentacles and the crab transports the anemone.

**Most of them eat other living creatures:
              -Herbivores eat plants
-Carnivores eat the prey they catch
-Parasites, like ticks, live on the bodies of other living creatures.
